Reader,

got a verse i wanna share with you, but let me set the scene real quick.

so way back in time, God was making the earth and all its inhabitants—some of those being the first humans.

the Bible had this to say about them:

'so God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.'

took that from genesis 1:27.

He really could have created humans as some weird-looking monsters, but for some reason he chose to make us like Him.

(which makes me feel good, because God's the coolest dude ever; but that's besides the point).

this got me thinking; if we were made in the image of the ultimate creator, the G-COAT (Greatest Creator Of All Time)…

then technically it's in our nature to have creative abilities as well.

think about it.

this idea is being proven every. single. day.

how, you might ask?

look around you.

i can guarantee that everything you see was created by someone, when you really break it down to the core.

this world has a creator, and so does the home you live in, and the phone you scroll on.

the problem though, is that the same world we inhabit is one that overly promotes consumption rather than creation.

this age of technology has made it easier than ever to be distracted to the point where we rarely think for ourselves.

this keeps us in a state of comfort, which is dangerous.

if you let it, excessive consumption will keep you in a cage—forever watching the work of others, without ever making anything of your own…

in a way, you could end up wasting one of the most beautiful gifts God has given you without even realizing it.

but don't worry—there's always hope.

lemme remind you of that verse i brought up earlier.

God created each and every one of us in His image.

each and every one.

this applies to us just as much as it did to the people he created all those years ago.

i believe we were all meant to create something, it's just a matter of finding out what that thing actually is.

but listen, i'm not asking you to go build a skyscraper.

creating something can be done on a much smaller scale and still have the same effect.

for example:

  • making a carousel on instagram of some nice pictures you took this week.
  • or writing about your day in your journal.
  • or even putting together the outfit that you leave the house with in the morning.

these are all things that may seem ordinary on their own, but you have to look deeper.

truly anything is a form of creation as long as it requires your personal touch.

once you really internalize this, it makes it so much easier to romanticize your life.

because you become aware of the gift that you're putting into action.

you start to see the world as a canvas, and yourself as the artist.

you start to live a life of passion, rather than monotony.

each moment becomes a scene from a movie, with you as the main character.

and it opens up an entire world of possibilities.

i've only just scratched the surface with this through my content, but I've found that there's infinitely many ways to practice.

speaking of, i wanna challenge you to do something.

as soon as you're done reading this, go think of something you can create.

start small.

  • cook your favorite meal (yes, even if it's mac n cheese).
  • write a message to an old friend.
  • reorganize your room.

but when you do it, focus on feeling the process of creating rather than just 'doing.'

and think about how different it makes you feel.

there may not be anything there the first time, but keep practicing.

i promise you that over time you'll start to appreciate your day to day so much more with this mindset.

i honestly wouldn't be surprised if you started pursuing bigger things over time.

who knows?

you could become the next picasso.

but the only way you'll find out is if you actually take what i said to heart and try it.

reply to this email n let me know how it goes for you.

happy friday,
