read on my site

how you doing Reader?

long time no see.

i know it's been a while and i wanna sincerely apologize for ghosting.

it's 100% my fault, but i can explain.

i've been living in atlanta for the past month n a half and a lot has changed.

in my time here i've fallen deeply in love with the concept of creating, and our endless capability to create as humans.

i believe that the best way to practice it is through telling stories.

it's the coolest thing because every single person on earth could tell an infinite amount of stories and no two would ever be the same.

this hit me randomly one day and i started GEEKIN.

there's a quote from steve jobs on this, it resonates too hard:

'everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.'

this was in the back of my mind the whole time as the infatuation with creating grew stronger.

i started thinking about how i could get my foot in the door, and the perfect opp eventually presented itself.

my brother was starting up his youtube channel and asked me to be his editor.

i took it not really knowing what to expect, solely trusting the conviction in myself and the crazy potential i saw in us working together.

and once i got in the flow of making the first project for him, i was hooked.

it didn't even feel like work when i was making his stuff.

that's exactly how i knew i struck something.

nothing's ever given me that feeling before, but it's what i've been looking for this whole time.

and i must have done a good job bc two days after it dropped, my other brother asked me (more like told me lmao) to do the same for him.

shoutout andres + griff ^

so that's what i'm doing now: helping create content for others while making my own as well.

and i know it's gonna go a whole lot deeper than editing, but this just the first step.

so to be completely honest with you…

i've recently been dialed in with making stuff and setting up systems to manage my workflow that i haven't had much time for anything else.

so the newsletter kinda took the backseat for a bit, n i'm sorry about that.

but i'm testing and figuring things out every day, so we're getting back on track.

don't worry, this newsletter isn't going anywhere.

gonna aim to get back on schedule with the weekly drops, and as i keep figuring out the system that'll become more concrete.

but i'm alive, the most i've ever been tbh.

more to come.

love,

gabe
